While shopping quickly at Tesco in Middleton on Thursday, September 5th, around 4:11 pm, a customer observed a cleaner spraying a substance around the produce and on the floor in the fruit and vegetable aisle. After spraying, the employee proceeded to mop the area. However, upon finishing, the employee placed the spray bottle on the fresh produce and left it there. The customer, taken aback by the developing situation, promptly informed the customer service team, who quickly called upon a floor supervisor. Subsequently, the customer revisited the produce section with an employee, who, upon noticing the spray bottle, was filled with a sense of embarrassment and astonishment at the turn of events. The employee promptly retrieved and relocated the spray bottle before attempting to locate the cleaning team member responsible for leaving it behind. Regrettably, the individual could not be found; however, the employee assured the customer that the issue would be handled accordingly.
