Manchester Today interviewed a few individuals residing along the road, with one resident, Kimberley R, sharing her thoughts. "This street is a death road. Someone must surely listen now and take action to put up speed camera's. I have reached out to the council multiple times, but I feel like my voice and concerns are not being given due consideration." Another concerned resident, who chose to remain anonymous, echoed similar sentiments regarding the hazardous conditions of the road in question. Expressing a profound sense of urgency, they emphasized the imminent threat posed by the current state of affairs. The individual highlighted the alarming frequency of accidents on the road, painting a grim picture of the potential consequences if proactive measures are not promptly implemented by the Council. By drawing attention to the stark reality of the situation, this resident underscored the critical need for immediate action to prevent further harm and safeguard the well-being of all road users. The plea for intervention was rooted in a genuine concern for public safety, urging authorities to prioritize the issue and avert the looming risk of tragic incidents that could result from inaction.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: "At approximately 3.15pm today (Monday 29 July), one fire engine from Chadderton fire station attended a crash involving a vehicle and a lamppost on Grimshaw Lane, Middleton.

"Firefighters assisted one lady before she was taken into care by North West Ambulance Service. Crews were in attendance for 50 minutes."
