Edgar wood academy in Middleton has been slammed for ignoring bullying complaints after a year eight student was grabbed and thrown onto the ground on bowlee by another student.
A student who cannot be named for legal reasons was walking home from school when he was approached by another student who then proceeded to grab him swung him around and then threw him onto the ground. Manchester today was contacted by the mother of the child who told us "My son is small for his age and suffers from autism the bullying happens on a regular basis i have made numerous complaints to the school about the bullying but nothing seems to be getting done, it is having a huge effect on my son's mental health and behaviour they're days where he is too scared to go to school in fear of getting bullied on the way there or back. No mother should have to worry about if her child is going to come home safe from school, it's scary times that we live in and as a mother, you worry they're so many things you hear and read about kids being attacked outside school by other students" The mother then continued to tell us "I have had no other option but to contact the police as i was getting nowhere. The school have basically now told me that they're not going to do anything and to let the police deal with it my son and the bully both had to write statements in school and because his doesn't match theirs they're not doing anything but it's not going to match is it" The mother then told us that she had to struggle to get her son into the school grounds as he was refusing to enter school he was grabbing onto the fence and then onto the gate refusing to go in. Mr Marcin Kojder [ Head Teacher ] then proceeded to stand by and watch the single mother fight and struggle to try to get her son into the school grounds.
Manchester Today Contacted the school today but was met with hostility regarding the reports of bullying.
