Emergency services responded to a road traffic collision in Middleton

Emergency services, including an Air Ambulance, were dispatched to a road traffic collision (RTC) in Middleton.

Emergency services from Greater Manchester Police (GMP), Northwest Ambulance Service (NWAS), and an Air Ambulance crew were dispatched to attend a Road Traffic Collision (RTC) today (September 22) A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), said: “At around 4.35pm on Sunday (September 22) one fire engine from Heywood Community Fire Station attended a crash involving four vehicles on Eastway, Middleton.

“Crews assisted colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service in making the vehicles and surrounding area safe and were in attendance for around 30 minutes.” It is believed that the driver experienced a 'medical episode' while driving his car, causing it to collide with three other vehicles along Eastway on Sunday afternoon.

The driver, whose age is unconfirmed, was quickly taken to the hospital from the location. Reports indicate that he is still in critical condition at the hospital.
