Police are still searching for the knifeman who attacked and stabbed a man in a targeted assault after a crash.

Authorities are still searching for a suspect after a man was attacked and stabbed in a deliberate assault following a collision in Middleton,

At approximately 8.30pm on Monday (July 29), Police and medical responders hurried to the location of the crash on Rochdale Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a man with stab injuries who was promptly taken to the hospital. The victim, who suffered serious injuries in the attack, is still battling for his life. Forensics officers conducted investigations overnight, leading to the closure of the main road.

The police are considering the incident as a 'targeted attack', indicating that the victim was 'attacked' after the crash.

An investigation is currently underway to determine all the details related to the incident, as the suspects are still not apprehended.

According to witnesses, the collision occurred when the victim was being pursued in his car by the other vehicle. Following the stabbing, concerned locals quickly came to his aid.

One resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, recounted: "A friend of mine heard the impact and immediately ran outside. People were using towels and sheets to try and stem the bleeding until the police arrived."

After the black car crashed, the driver attempted to flee. Subsequently, someone from the white Golf pursuing him exited the vehicle and took action against him.

Rochdale Road remained cordoned off close to the intersection with Hollin Lane well into Monday evening while authorities conducted their investigations. Images taken by Manchester Today depicted police officers at the site of the incident, with a significant cordon established.

At the scene, a black car that appeared to have been damaged was photographed after apparently crashing into a set of metal railings.

According to a spokesperson from GMP, they received a call about a road traffic collision on Rochdale Road in Middleton, Rochdale at approximately 20:30 pm Monday evening.
