Residents living in a housing estate in Middleton are upset and frustrated because of the dumping of building waste outside their homes.

Residents residing on Bonscale Crescent in Middleton are upset as Lovell Homes have left rubble outside their homes following the construction of a 55-home estate.

The debris left on a green area near residences has angered the local community, who are forced to see the unsightly mound every day. The once vibrant green space where neighborhood kids used to play has been transformed into a neglected area filled with nettles, tall weeds, and a jumble of stones, tarmac, and paving slabs. Manchester Today spoke to a local resident who told us "All the residents are tired of the mess. They don't oppose the construction of houses, but improving one area is creating chaos in another, to the disadvantage of the residents near the green space." they continued with "The mound was moved a week before, and additional material was added to it. However, we are not simply looking to move it around; it must be cleaned up so that the area is neat and can be utilized once more, either as a parking lot or a play area for children. We want it to be restored and tidied up"

Lovell Homes spokesperson told Manchester Today "We are sorry that there are concerns from the community about the materials on our site and we apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing.

The materials are fenced and safe and we are storing them until we have completed all the works, which we are hoping will be by the beginning of next week. Once the works have been completed, the materials will be removed, and the site will be left tidy." Follow Manchester Today on Facebook, and Instagram.
