The Hopwood Arms Pub is preparing to welcome hundreds of people for a light switch-on event in Slattocks, Middelton.

The Hopwood Arms Pub, constructed in 1928 opposite the original Hopwood Arms, is helping to create community spirit by participating in Slattocks' first-ever christmas light switch-on event. Mandy and Ian, the owners of The Hopwood, have committed to creating a family-friendly pub that is safe and welcoming for all visitors, with a focus on the safety and well-being of their guests. They have hosted numerous public events for families to enjoy and have presented various musical performances throughout the year, providing entertainment for all. The pub, renowned for its exceptional food and hospitality for both customers and their dogs, is now collaborating with the local community to host a memorable evening as they celebrate the arrival of the Christmas season with their inaugural light switch-on event.

The Light-switch On event is scheduled for Wednesday, 27th November. The Slattocks Christmas Lights will be illuminated at 6:30 pm. The pub will be open as usual, offering mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies, and more. St. John's School Choir will commence their performance at 6 pm. The PTFA will have a stall, and to ensure all children maintain good behavior throughout the evening, Santa will be dispatching one of his trusted elves to oversee the event. While not naming anyone specifically, it is suggested that Ian should be on his best behavior if he wishes for a visit from Santa.
